Poonam Chhabra, Owner/Operator

Poonam has over 10 years of experience within the childcare field. Her journey as a childcare provider began shortly after graduating from Langara with a diploma in Early Childhood Education. Opening her own childcare centre has been a long time dream of hers. Growing up she often found herself playing “teacher” in the neighbourhood and had a growing passion for education and quality care. Poonam was a supervisor for The Grove Childcare for 7 years. As a result, she gained knowledge and experience on how to lead a child-centred successful program.
With passion and devotion to children, she is determined to provide your children with an amazing learning experience, and a place where they feel safe and loved.
Poonam enjoys travelling, yoga, and baking. She believes that we as community members  should “be the type of energy that no matter where you go, you always add value to the spaces and lives around you.”

Angela Lam, Owner/Operator

Angela has been working with children for over 10 years.  With a Bachelors in Human Kinetics, she originally wanted to become a physiotherapist. However she did not realize she had a passion for working with children, until later.  In the summer of 2008, she had 2 jobs, one as a physio assistant and one as a preschool daycamp coordinator.  On the day she was supposed to drive to the physio clinic, she found herself driving towards the preschool. That’s when she knew, working with children is where her heart is.
As the former assistant manager of The Grove Childcare for 8 years, she gained an extensive amount of knowledge and experience on how to run a centre as a whole. Both the program side, as well as the business side.
When not working, Angela enjoys travelling, shopping, spending time with her friends and family. She also enjoys the outdoors (hiking, snowboarding, beaches). However, one of her favourite activities is cuddling with her cat, Tian Shi.
Someone once asked why she wanted to be a teacher and she responded ‘because I want to help make a difference in someone’s life.’
